Feijoada
Ingredients
- two tablespoons vegetable oil
- one large onion chopped
- four cloves garlic, minced
- four cups of black beans,
leaving them to soak overnight
- 1 / 2 kilo of boiled salt
pork and cut into small cubes
- one kilo of Portuguese or Italian
sausage
- one kilo of sliced smoked ham
- one kilo of meat cut into small cubes
- 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
- four bay leaves
- one orange fresh washed and cut in half
- three liters of water
- six oranges, peeled and sliced
Preparation
In a large skillet brown the onion and garlic for a minute, add black beans, bacon, sausages, smoked ham, meat, salt, black pepper, bay leaf and orange halves. Cover and simmer for 2 hours or until beans are tender, stirring occasionally, adding water if needed. Serve with a few slices of orange, cassava, rice etc. Brazilian
